Welcome to the science based elective course called CSI! This class will introduce you to the methods in which crime scene investigators and forensic scientists solve crimes by using the application of science.
As we go about solving various mysteries, you will be expected to work effectively and collaboratively in a lab situation to collect and analyze data. You will be asked to think like a scientist in order to make logical deductions and develop explanations based on evidence. You will also utilize your interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with your peers and instructor.

CLASSROOM EXPECTATIONS:
- Be ready! You are to be in your assigned seat before the tardy bell rings. You should demonstrate your readiness by ending all personal conversations and having all supplies out and ready to go (lab notebook, pencil, etc.).
- Be respectful! You will be treated with respect and will be expected to show respect to all others in the classroom including lab equipment and supplies.
- Be responsible! Take responsibility for your actions and words.

GRADING:
- Homework – Will be assigned infrequently and only when necessary.
- Packet – Will be collected and graded periodically (every 2-3 weeks).
- Quizzes – Short quizzes on lecture notes and lab practices may occur throughout the quarter.
- Participation – You will be expected to participate in both class discussions and lab exercises. You will need to work collaboratively with others.
